The Bharathidasan University Library was established in the year 1982 and started functioning in the present city campus i.e. Khajamalai, later it has been shifted to the main campus in the year 1988. The Library got its own building in the magnificent block from 29th May 1997 with a carpet area of 3107.78 Sq meters. The first floor of the Library started functioning from 2008 with the same carpet area.Presently the library has 17 library staff members serving 2200 active members in addition, the academic community of other institutions and general public has been using the library resources and services. The library has organized the national conference of Indian Library Association in the year 1987 with the participation of around 300 Librarians all over the country.
